Hello Interwebs!
Instead of doing hauls with my monthly wrap-ups this year I've decided to do my book hauls on a quarterly basis, despite the fact that this makes my wrap-ups really really long. A lot of these books I did buy on my kindle on sale which is usually only $0.99-$4.99 at the most. Some were to replace hard copy books that I didn't want to keep on my shelves but still wanted to read or ones I got from the library that popped up on my Kindle deals that I enjoyed enough to want a copy for cheap. So without further ado here is the huge first quarter book haul, by genre.
First is the books I got from my two subscription services: Book of the Month and Literati.
I've gotten five books out of book of the month so far: three with my regular subscription and two add-ons. They are:
- Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins (2022): hardcover thriller from January
- Tastemakers: Seven Immigrant Women Who Revolutionized Food in America (2021): hardcover nonfiction add-on from January
- The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen (2022): hardcover thriller from February
- The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley (2022): hardcover thriller from March
- The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James (2022): hardcover thriller add-on from March
I've also gotten three books from my Literati book club subscription:
- The Secret to Superhuman Strength by Alison Bechdel: a hardcover graphic novel memoir
- Spirit Run: A 6,000 Mile Marathon Through North America's Stolen Lands by Noe Alvarez: a paperback memoir
- The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich: a hardcover historical fiction; also used a credit to buy the audiobook from Audible
Then there's all the other books I've purchased or been given one way or another during these three months. First up I got four "classics" or what I consider to be classics.
